We want to thank everyone who came to Blue Coast World to be part of a historic event at the California Audio Show. We we will be updating our site with photos and downloads of the session. If you'd like to hear the raw files recorded live at the show, please log in and click here. You'll find 96 24 and CD Quality audio files. For the first time, you'll DSD data files are available for you to experiment burning a disc image and playing in your Sony Playstation. More DSD files are expected along with remixes of the music in the studio for you to decide if you prefer raw or enhanced sound.
From July 30-August 1, Blue Coast hosted 6 live performances and posted the recordings within 24 hours as 96 and 44.1 downloads. Gus Skinas, spoke each day to an enthralled audience wanting to hear about playing a DSD data disc on a Sony Playstation. We compared our own Blue Coast Collection on CD and DSD data in the Playstation and found stunning results.
The recording sessions were engineered and produced by Cookie Marenco with Gus Skinas operating the DSD recording and Patrick O'Connor operating the 96 24 and upload process. OTR Studios crew members, Mike Howles, Josh Kramer and Paulo Horn were on hand to assist. Special thanks to Chris Klein from Acoustic Sciences for their help with the room treatments.
The recordings you hear were are made in front of a live audience without eq, compression or effects added to enhance the song. These are raw files as we heard it played in the room. Remixes are planned later in the month. We hope you enjoy hearing the differences and make your own judgment as to which you prefer.
